About myself

"You belong on the stage!" -- something a classmate once said to me at university and many others before.... Not going to lie, I agree.

I love performing, always have. From a very young age, I decided I want to be an actress and a singer, because I realised two things:
I enjoyed doing both (preferabley at the same time) and I was good at both -- two of my stapel rules for life: doing what you love and what you're good at; acting and music have always been two of my biggest passions and callings.
I love the stage and I am also open to performing within other mediums: film, televison, online -- anywhere I can perform and create.

As a singer, I've always loved singing any song I could get my teeth into and never liked to limit myself to one genre – I took up classical training, being told that it would teach the fundamentals of technique, which would help keep my voice strong and healthy. This is true, but I always ventured to listen to any other genre of music. This has been a great teacher, to me. Listen and learn is basic first nature of most musicians: we hear a song, pick up the melody by ear and sing it, or play it -- simple! (with the exception of musicians like Dame Evelyn Glennie -- percussionist, from Scotland. She's deaf and plays by feeling vibrations through the ground.)

Have sung and tried many styles in the classical, tradional and contemporary worlds of music, I've finally found my own style as a singer and performer. I will continue to sing as many genres as I can, because they challenge me -- each has something different to teach me, as I continue to grow and change as a singer and performer.

As an actor, I seek out any role which which demonstrates intelligence, charisma and eccentricity; the really interesting characters for me are the support roles who steal the show – quirky, colourful characters that require expression and a voice that can hit the back of the room! I long characters such as Ariel from The Tempest and can't wait to play a magical creature on stage or screen!

I studied music performance (voice) for four years and graduated with a 2:1 BMus (Hons) degree.
Currently, I train at the Sandra Scott Singing Studios in London, with Sandra Scott as my coach -
Sandra Scott is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and a wonderful friend.
